Brightwater Hackathon 2025

Venture UWA’s Role in the Tech Innovate Challenge Hackathon

At Venture UWA, we are proud to join forces with Brightwater in the Tech Innovate Challenge Hackathon, an inspiring initiative that harnesses the power of innovation to combat loneliness among older Australians.

“We know the technology barrier for seniors can significantly contribute to social isolation by limiting their ability to link with others,” Dr Stoddart said.

We believe that technology can be a transformative tool in bridging the digital divide, creating opportunities for our seniors to stay connected and engaged in today’s fast-paced world.

Our involvement in this project reflects our commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talent and fostering creative solutions to real-world challenges. Through hands-on workshops, expert mentoring – including support from our Entrepreneur in Residence – and a collaborative environment, participants will gain invaluable insights into the unique experiences of our older generation. This event is not just about coding and technology; it is about making a meaningful impact on lives, providing hope, and building a more inclusive community.

We invite innovators, students, developers, researchers, and tech enthusiasts to join us in this challenge and contribute to a brighter future. Together, we can transform isolation into connection.
